How the truck gets to Fort Myers

City of Fort Myers or Lee County?
A Fort Myers mailing address doesn't always mean the City of Fort Myers. Downtown, the River District, Dunbar and the blocks along McGregor Boulevard near downtown are inside city limits, and a replacement door there is permitted by the city's Building, Permitting and Inspections office on Hendry Street. Farther out, the McGregor area outside the city, Whiskey Creek, Villas and Page Park are unincorporated Lee County, so that permit comes from the county. We check which one your address falls under and pull the right permit.
Under the royal palms
Some of the older homes off McGregor Boulevard still have narrow single-car garages and wood doors. If yours can be saved, we'll say so, and most repairs take 1 to 2 hours. If it can't, we measure the opening itself, because older openings aren't always a stock size, and find a wind-rated door that fits it. A new door means one day on site, once it has been ordered and the permit is in hand.
Rentals and the people who manage them
About half the homes inside city limits are rented. If you manage one, call or text with the address, who will be at the door and who approves the work. The arrival texts go to the person who'll be home, and the written price goes to you before any work starts.
Metro Parkway and the warehouses
Metro Parkway is lined with warehouses and flex bays, most of them behind sectional or roll-up doors that take a beating from forklifts and delivery trucks. On a commercial door, most repairs run 1 to 3 hours. Send a picture of the door and the plate on its motor, and the tech shows up with the right parts.
